About Jennifer Johnston-Clark: Photography
I have been doing photography for a while now, and I cannot believe how lucky I am to be living my dream. I wake up every morning and pinch myself.
I have the most fantastic, unique, and interesting clients. Every job I get is a new adventure, and its incredible. My life is an absolute adventure and I
wouldn't have it any other way.
I love shooting the variety of life. Any culture, any religion, any sexuality. Everybody has a story to share with the world, ... and my camera!
My sister and my niece travelled down for a day visit a few weekends ago. I whipped my camera in to action of course hehe
I finally got a chance to edit the photos, phewf! Here’s some of the cutest:
She loves to smile for Aunty Jen:
Playing with Nan:

Well, 2009 was an AMAZING year for me. Absolutely amazing. Where do I start.
I have been doing photography for a while now, but 2009….. 2009 was the year I can look back on and say its when I REALLY became a photographer. I fell, I got back up again, I wanted to give up 2000 times, I kicked myself each time, I cried, I laughed, I fell down exhausted, I tried, I created, I learned, I explored, I invented, and I had FUN.
I look back at the weddings I did at the start of the year, they seem like a life time ago. It was my first season of weddings. And MAN was I scared/nervous/terrified. But I met some beautifully awesome brides and grooms, that helped me grow and shape my style, that trusted me enough to capture their day, that gave me confidence when I had none. And I thank them all, from the bottom of my stubby toes, to the tip of my squishy brain
And then there were all the families that came to me for portrait sessions. MAN did I meet some interesting people last year. You were all wonderful, seriously. I look back over the photos from the year, and I get all emotional… simply because of the connection I feel with all of you. 80% of my clients added me as a friend on facebook… 80%. Thats incredible. I love watching how their lives develop, how relationships bloom, how the children grow
I’m smack dab in the middle of my second season of weddings… Im still scared/nervous/terrified. But I think thats a good thing. It pushes me to be better, to want more for you guys. It makes me work harder on the day of your wedding, or on your portrait session, to get the bests shots I possibly can. I still have a LONG way to go to get to where I want to be with photography, so much to learn and try. But Im doing it. And maybe this year I will only want to give up 1000 times
Stick with me, cause its going to be an interesting ride… watch out 2010, Jen is loose with her camera
Now, I looked at every single photo I took in 2009 (yes it took me forever), and I was going to share with you my top 25 images. But I could not get it down to 25 haha, so I chose 40. These are not all the best photos technically, but they are the ones that either make me very proud, or make me smile. So here they are….

Unfortunately, they just didnt want to sleep, so Im going back next weekend to try again. BUT we did get a few cool shots. Im still working on them, but wanted to share a few so that their mummy and daddy could have a lookey before the weekend

Oh look, 2 minutes of sleep hehe:

I am in no way an expert baby photographer, but I sure as hell do LOVE photographing them… cause of all the inbetween cuddles LOL

And finally I am ALL DONE with Nicholas and Nikki’s wedding photos
Man oh man, what a day it was. Nico and I drove over to Tauranga for this one, and we were pretty excited. Nikki looked STUNNNNNING, absolutely stunning. And the boys looked oh so dapper in their suits and bright red ties (yes I did say dapper… I can’t help if it’s the perfect word!) And Nicholas and Nikki, oh my, were they in love. They radiated it. Oh how I love to photograph two people in love
But enough of my ramblings, CHECK OUT some of my favourite photos from the day:

Timothy was turning 3, and I got asked to take photos at his party…. of course I said yes, … you know me, never say no to taking photos! Not to mention I love Timothy and his family, they have been awesome since I first started doing photography. So I zipped back down from Auckland (I’ll tell you all about my exciting Auckland news, and why I was up there, in my next post), and headed out to Te Pahu….
Here are my favourite photos from the day

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TIMOTHY…..!!!!!

So I have been wanting to try this for a while, but… didn’t think I’d find anyone to give it ago. HA, I was wrong. So I got two volunteers, told them my makeup ideas, watched as they slapped it on… without any weird looks even, and then started shooting. I have to say, they turned out… different than I expected haha, but I’m happy with them. It’s always great to try new things. The fact is, I am still very much learning when it comes to lighting in a ’studio’ setting (aka my lounge), so I just did what comes naturally to me, went crazy and creative lol. Anyway, here are a few of my favourite shots, and thanks again to my wonderful volunteers, gave me a good laugh

THANKS GALS
Rockin It:

Oh and I have to add this one, Colleens daughter was feeling left out, and then got into the eyeshadow hahaha, cuteness:

If you would be interested in volunteering for a shoot like this, PLEASE contact me. I love doing something different, something fun and creative just for the hell of it

Well as I said, the Baby Shower was a success. The lollies and prizes flowed free, as did the gifts and laughter. It was such a fun day!!! To top it off, we did a Harry Potter Marathon (me and all the guys in the photos in the previous post) at night, some of us feel asleep near the end hahaha, but it was only soft snores, so I dont think it mattered. Basically it was the best day Ive had in AGES, so yay
Heres a few photos from the shower:

Ill put more on facebook once Ive had the chance to do them Liz hehe
Also… I may have to blog about the culling of your tree sometime lol.
Hope everyone is having a GREAT weekend. Nico and I are spring cleaning, EEEEEK.
