About Jennifer Johnston-Clark: Photography

I have been doing photography for a while now, and I cannot believe how lucky I am to be living my dream. I wake up every morning and pinch myself. I have the most fantastic, unique, and interesting clients. Every job I get is a new adventure, and its incredible. My life is an absolute adventure and I wouldn't have it any other way.

    Wedding: Linzi and Roger

    Monday, March 22nd, 2010

Family. That was the important thing on Linzi and Rogers wedding day. Family… such a large and wonderful family. All of their children and grandchildren were just so happy for them both, you could see it in their eyes, the way they laughed and smiled, the amazing speeches they gave. Nico and I both felt so honoured to be there photographing their day. We were challenged by heat and super bright sun, but we had an awesome time :D Oh, and the meal was YUMMO, thanks so much for inviting us to sit down and eat guys :D Here are a few photos from the day, enjoy:

    Wedding: Arthur and Judith

    Saturday, February 13th, 2010

So a few weeks back Nico and I headed out to Gordonton to photograph Arthur and Judith’s Wedding. And now that I can finally post photos on my blog again, and can show you how the day went :) I was so sure it was going to rain, the forecast spoke of showers, the black clouds loomed, and somewhere an old mans arthritic knee was playing up. But it didn’t, in fact the sun shone down extremely brightly all afternoon (sunburn again sigh). I was so looking forward to photographing this wedding, as Arthur and Judith have so much fun in front of the camera, and their bridal party followed the lead, so I was not disappointed. We had a great time doing the photos!!

To start with, here is a shot of Judy and her dad at the end of the aisle. Such an awesome moment. There was alot of love in the air :D

2009: Top Photos of the Year

    Sunday, January 17th, 2010

Well, 2009 was an AMAZING year for me. Absolutely amazing. Where do I start.

I have been doing photography for a while now, but 2009….. 2009 was the year I can look back on and say its when I REALLY became a photographer. I fell, I got back up again, I wanted to give up 2000 times, I kicked myself each time, I cried, I laughed, I fell down exhausted, I tried, I created, I learned, I explored, I invented, and I had FUN.

I look back at the weddings I did at the start of the year, they seem like a life time ago. It was my first season of weddings. And MAN was I scared/nervous/terrified. But I met some beautifully awesome brides and grooms, that helped me grow and shape my style, that trusted me enough to capture their day, that gave me confidence when I had none. And I thank them all, from the bottom of my stubby toes, to the tip of my squishy brain :) And then there were all the families that came to me for portrait sessions. MAN did I meet some interesting people last year. You were all wonderful, seriously. I look back over the photos from the year, and I get all emotional… simply because of the connection I feel with all of you. 80% of my clients added me as a friend on facebook… 80%. Thats incredible. I love watching how their lives develop, how relationships bloom, how the children grow :)

I’m smack dab in the middle of my second season of weddings… Im still scared/nervous/terrified. But I think thats a good thing. It pushes me to be better, to want more for you guys. It makes me work harder on the day of your wedding, or on your portrait session, to get the bests shots I possibly can. I still have a LONG way to go to get to where I want to be with photography, so much to learn and try. But Im doing it. And maybe this year I will only want to give up 1000 times ;)

Stick with me, cause its going to be an interesting ride… watch out 2010, Jen is loose with her camera :D

Now, I looked at every single photo I took in 2009 (yes it took me forever), and I was going to share with you my top 25 images. But I could not get it down to 25 haha, so I chose 40. These are not all the best photos technically, but they are the ones that either make me very proud, or make me smile. So here they are….
