About Jennifer Johnston-Clark: Photography
I have been doing photography for a while now, and I cannot believe how lucky I am to be living my dream. I wake up every morning and pinch myself.
I have the most fantastic, unique, and interesting clients. Every job I get is a new adventure, and its incredible. My life is an absolute adventure and I
wouldn't have it any other way.
I love shooting the variety of life. Any culture, any religion, any sexuality. Everybody has a story to share with the world, ... and my camera!
So I have finally been able to finish off Rachel’ maternity photos, which is great because Im supposed to be photographing the wee baby that was inside that bump on Sunday
To respect her privacy I won’t show her face, but here are a couple of my non face favourites hehe:
This family is just soooo gorgeous!!! Can’t wait to meet the new addition

Well, 2009 was an AMAZING year for me. Absolutely amazing. Where do I start.
I have been doing photography for a while now, but 2009….. 2009 was the year I can look back on and say its when I REALLY became a photographer. I fell, I got back up again, I wanted to give up 2000 times, I kicked myself each time, I cried, I laughed, I fell down exhausted, I tried, I created, I learned, I explored, I invented, and I had FUN.
I look back at the weddings I did at the start of the year, they seem like a life time ago. It was my first season of weddings. And MAN was I scared/nervous/terrified. But I met some beautifully awesome brides and grooms, that helped me grow and shape my style, that trusted me enough to capture their day, that gave me confidence when I had none. And I thank them all, from the bottom of my stubby toes, to the tip of my squishy brain
And then there were all the families that came to me for portrait sessions. MAN did I meet some interesting people last year. You were all wonderful, seriously. I look back over the photos from the year, and I get all emotional… simply because of the connection I feel with all of you. 80% of my clients added me as a friend on facebook… 80%. Thats incredible. I love watching how their lives develop, how relationships bloom, how the children grow
I’m smack dab in the middle of my second season of weddings… Im still scared/nervous/terrified. But I think thats a good thing. It pushes me to be better, to want more for you guys. It makes me work harder on the day of your wedding, or on your portrait session, to get the bests shots I possibly can. I still have a LONG way to go to get to where I want to be with photography, so much to learn and try. But Im doing it. And maybe this year I will only want to give up 1000 times
Stick with me, cause its going to be an interesting ride… watch out 2010, Jen is loose with her camera
Now, I looked at every single photo I took in 2009 (yes it took me forever), and I was going to share with you my top 25 images. But I could not get it down to 25 haha, so I chose 40. These are not all the best photos technically, but they are the ones that either make me very proud, or make me smile. So here they are….

Well as I said, the Baby Shower was a success. The lollies and prizes flowed free, as did the gifts and laughter. It was such a fun day!!! To top it off, we did a Harry Potter Marathon (me and all the guys in the photos in the previous post) at night, some of us feel asleep near the end hahaha, but it was only soft snores, so I dont think it mattered. Basically it was the best day Ive had in AGES, so yay
Heres a few photos from the shower:

Ill put more on facebook once Ive had the chance to do them Liz hehe
Also… I may have to blog about the culling of your tree sometime lol.
Hope everyone is having a GREAT weekend. Nico and I are spring cleaning, EEEEEK.

Well, Nico and I are back from our time away in Auckland. We had so much fun!! My sisters baby shower rocked! I’ll post some photos from it in a couple of days, although I didnt take many, I was busy handing out prizes and getting food ready hehe.
Todays entry… is about the CUTEST boy ever. I know I may say so and sos child is the cutest child ever,…. cause I go gaga over the littles, but in all seriousness… this little one makes your heart stop with his cuteness. I did this portrait sitting while up in Auckland, for Rob and Tracy, and their son Lucas… and their puppy Chole… also cute, I got a few licks from her
This is pure cuteness:

His personality is infectious, and he keeps you laughing for hours… sometimes just cause of the way he runs
Check out the action below lol.

We tried finding a playground at the Auckland Gardens, … but all we could find was this egg. HOWever…. I LOVE THIS EGG. Such cute photos in it!!!

Even one of Nico
Ooops, probably shouldnt show this one in public, LOL:

Anyway, back to the cuteness:

One of Chloe:

And a family shot

And Rob and Tracy:

And one last cute one…. maybe 2 lol:

AND… finally, a photo of everyone that came along. Rob and Tracy are friends with my sister and her man, so they came along too

I had so much fun doing these photos, and hopefully I can do some more when Lucas gets a little bit older…
PS…. Nico is not a dog person:

So Im halfway through these photos and I thought it might be nice to post some more on here for you guys to see
This family was so fantastic. So open and lovely. And their kids were wonderful, and obviously loved each other so much. Not often you see brothers and sisters that seem so close and sweet with each other, awwww
It was a real pleasure doing these photos, and hopefully I can some outdoorsy ones for them when the weathers a bit warmer!

Love Jen.
Oh My.
Look at the CUTENESS I got to photograph today

This is a sneaky preview, way more to come of this little one, and his whole family!!!

So we had a great time at my sisters 30th on the weekend. Lots of laughs, drinks, and photo taking haha. It was held at Broncos Restaurant in Auckland, my sisters local favourite, her and her partner go there reguarly for dinner. Its a cool place, nice food!!!! Anyhoo, I was mostly drinking coke, so I was very much sober enough to take photos, as usual lol. There was some pretty funny moments I have to say. The conversation about maternity undies was especially stimulating. They also put the rugby on the tv half way through the party, so every male there had their faces glued to the screen lol. Everyone had a great time, Liz was happy, so yay!!!
I thought Id take photos even though Liz said I didnt have to since the restaurant doesnt have the best lighting. Well… I took on the challenge, and didnt use the flash either… thought Id try without, ooo look at me mastering my camera haha. The photos were a bit noisy/grainy, but having no flash can capture the scene better in my opinion, so it was worth the sacrifice of super clear images on this occasion.
I added the photos to my personnal facebook page, everyone got tagged, and the comments came flooding in. I dont think I have ever had so many comments on one photo album lol.
Oh well… thats enough of my boring blabber, heres some of my favourite photos from the night:
Thats right Liz… the big 3 0:

Liz and Mum:

And one of me and Nico (thanks for snapping it Jo):

And for anyone that cares, the entire night was shot at 1.8… except that photo of Nico and I. Now THAT was a challenge;) I love a challenge.
Have a great weekend everyone.
