Today I shot Arthur and Judith’s wedding. Oh I was so happy for no rain, as their wedding and reception was outdoors in Judith’s parents beautiful garden! I won’t say too much now, want to save the details for when I finish the editing, but… Arthur, Judith, it was a wonderful, crazy, funny, and beautiful day. I am SO glad you asked me to be there to do your photos. SOOOOO glad
SO here is your sneaky preview, and more to come in a few weeks
Judy…. I love you. I love you for wearing pink shoes. GORgeous.

Funkiest bridal party EVER:

Well, 2009 was an AMAZING year for me. Absolutely amazing. Where do I start.
I have been doing photography for a while now, but 2009….. 2009 was the year I can look back on and say its when I REALLY became a photographer. I fell, I got back up again, I wanted to give up 2000 times, I kicked myself each time, I cried, I laughed, I fell down exhausted, I tried, I created, I learned, I explored, I invented, and I had FUN.
I look back at the weddings I did at the start of the year, they seem like a life time ago. It was my first season of weddings. And MAN was I scared/nervous/terrified. But I met some beautifully awesome brides and grooms, that helped me grow and shape my style, that trusted me enough to capture their day, that gave me confidence when I had none. And I thank them all, from the bottom of my stubby toes, to the tip of my squishy brain
And then there were all the families that came to me for portrait sessions. MAN did I meet some interesting people last year. You were all wonderful, seriously. I look back over the photos from the year, and I get all emotional… simply because of the connection I feel with all of you. 80% of my clients added me as a friend on facebook… 80%. Thats incredible. I love watching how their lives develop, how relationships bloom, how the children grow
I’m smack dab in the middle of my second season of weddings… Im still scared/nervous/terrified. But I think thats a good thing. It pushes me to be better, to want more for you guys. It makes me work harder on the day of your wedding, or on your portrait session, to get the bests shots I possibly can. I still have a LONG way to go to get to where I want to be with photography, so much to learn and try. But Im doing it. And maybe this year I will only want to give up 1000 times
Stick with me, cause its going to be an interesting ride… watch out 2010, Jen is loose with her camera
Now, I looked at every single photo I took in 2009 (yes it took me forever), and I was going to share with you my top 25 images. But I could not get it down to 25 haha, so I chose 40. These are not all the best photos technically, but they are the ones that either make me very proud, or make me smile. So here they are….

In my opinion, the wedding day is the first day that every single family member and friend truly see how much love a couple has for one another. On the day Helen and Richard married, every person was smiling, because every person saw the love shining from them both. I was wiping back a tear or two
Even Nico said it was the best ceremony he had been too, because of their story, their love.
I felt so honoured to photograph their day, I just hope I did it justice for them. You guys rocked, you looked amazing, and I can’t wait to show you the photos. But here’s a peak for you:
Helen and Richard decided to see each other before the ceremony, so we could have plenty of time for photos. Here’s a shot of the boys as Helen walks towards them. Richard looks deliriously happy on the right

And here’s Helen and her dad:

We decided to do some warm up photos, to get everyone used to my craziness

We then moved down to the river, where the boys whipped out their fishing rods. They didn’t catch anything though… I suspect they may need to use bait next time

Actually I lied when I said they didn’t catch anything hehe:

LOVE this one:

Another place we stopped at for photos was Casabella lane. We were hoping for crowds… but it was empty lol. Still, made for some cute shots:

Then it was on to Woodlands for the ceremony and reception. Here are a few of my favs from there:
