I have been doing photography for a while now, and I cannot believe how lucky I am to be living my dream. I wake up every morning and pinch myself. I have the most fantastic, unique, and interesting clients. Every job I get is a new adventure, and its incredible. My life is an absolute adventure and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I love shooting the variety of life. Any culture, any religion, any sexuality. Everybody has a story to share with the world, ... and my camera!

    General: Remember remember the 5th of November.

    Guy Fawkes time again, as if you couldnt tell by the copious amounts of terrified animals roaming the streets hehe. Nico and I dragged his parents along to the fireworks display in Ohaupo last night. I thought it would be a perfect time to try fireworks photography. The show was pretty short, approx 5 minutes, which was a bit sad. But the fireworks themselves were awesome.

    Ive never done fireworks photography before, and so it was really just a trial…. but, I actually got some pretty funky ones!!

    Heres a couple of shots I took while we were waiting for the show to start… I love long shutter speed!

    General: Aberdeen Gala

    What… A…. Day.

    My cousin, Jo, was selling her jewellery at the Aberdeen Gala today. A while ago when she mentioned it, I offered her a free portrait sitting to use. Whom ever bought a piece of jewellery from her table, went in the draw to win it!!

    I’ll post the winner of that tomorrow :)

    Anyway, I ended up being able to go along since Liz had her baby early, so I quickly threw together some display things, and away I went.

    I didn’t have much room (even though we had to pay for a full section for some reason… lol, life is full of random happenings huh), so I kinda squished it all in, right next to Jo’s stall :) Because of space issues, I had to turn the table around, so I was stuck far from the customers, so I didn’t manage to talk to many people, but… it was an interesting experience, …. and I managed to get HEAPS of books for my niece Alena … and shhhh, a bit of fudge ;)

    And most importantly, Jo had lots of sales and good feedback on her jewellery, so yay for her :)

    General: Flyer Drop and Hockey

    Nico and I did something pretty cool today. Went and watch Josephs hockey game (Joseph my young cousin for those people who dont reguarly read the blog). It was quick, but super fun to be there to support him!!!

    So yep, that was a cool morning!!! Then in the afternoon, me, Nico, and our friend Sarah delivered flyers to letterboxes in various places around Hamilton! We skipped all the ‘No Circulars’ boxes, but… not the “No Junk Mail”… cause really, Im not junk :) And it has an awesome deal on the flyer!!! So HOPEFULLY, we get a few emails or calls from those, and if not, it was a fun walk! Thanks soooo much Sarah :)

    This evening we hung out at Luke and Sarahs! It was nice to get away from the computer screen for a while, and we had ALOT of laughs over there, so yay!

    Its been a great day! Tomorrow I have a photo shoot for some young guys…. this will be interesting ;)

    I am also currently giving away a FREE, yes thats right, FREE portrait sitting. And not only that, but you will receive a free 8×12 print of your choice from the shoot!!!

    How to win the free sitting:

    There are alot of BADDDD photos out there, sitting in frames on your wall, or slotted into albums. Send me the WORST photo you have of yourself or your family. Bad hair, funny facials, bizarre froo froo pink taffeta dress from the 80’s…ew. Send them in. The NASTIEST, WEIRDEST, WORST photo will win!!!

    Rules:

    *2 photo entries per person ONLY

    *only the person/people in the photo will be eligable for the free sitting. So if you want this for your whole family, they all need to be in the photo you send.

    * maximum of 5 people for the sitting (extra people are $15 per)

    *entries close 1 June 2009

    *winner announced 2 June 2009

    General: My new Lens and Nicos Graduation Party

    So I finallt got a new lens, WOOHOO, so exciting. It was quite small, which I wasnt expecting!! Ill have to post photos of my new and other lens, so you can see the size comparisons, its crazy!!  Im still gettting used to the lens, but already I can see a difference in the photos, so Im pretty happy!! The first place I used it was the on Saturday night, at Nicos graduation party! I thought Id post a few photos, since it was such a fun and fabulous night :) Thanks to Jo and Stu for letting us have it at their house (much more roomy than ours) and to mum and Jo for helping me supply the food!

    Event: Bens Graduation: Nicos Graduation

    Hey all, haven’t made an entry for a few days, Ive been CRAZY busy!! So this will be a super big post!

    On to other matters!! Poor Nico is pretty sick today :( He had the day off work, so I made sure to give him loads of cuddles and cook him a scrummy tea.     Woohoo my honey has graduated!! He got capped on the ceremony on Monday!!! We spent half the day taking photos lol, and once I have had a chance to go through them, I’ll post some on here. I also photographed my friends graduation on Tuesday, so Ill post some of her photos on here too once I have done them all!
