About Jennifer Johnston-Clark: Photography

I have been doing photography for a while now, and I cannot believe how lucky I am to be living my dream. I wake up every morning and pinch myself. I have the most fantastic, unique, and interesting clients. Every job I get is a new adventure, and its incredible. My life is an absolute adventure and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I love shooting the variety of life. Any culture, any religion, any sexuality. Everybody has a story to share with the world, ... and my camera!

    Personal: Wedding Shootout

    Thursday, August 19th, 2010

Back in April, I roped my cousin into dressing up in her wedding dress so that I could take some photos. I’d been wanting to just have some fun with my camera, explore ideas and light like I hadnt had the chance to do at weddings. Luckily Jo still fit in her wedding dress…. GO YOU JO! She dragged her sister along, and we had a rocking time all over town :D Ive been just… so busy all year, and havent had much of a chance to even touch these images… but today…. today I was feeling creative, so I went through and edited a random selection.  So here are a few of them…. better late than never ;)

And last but not least, my favourite:

Boudoir: A bit of a journey!

    Monday, August 2nd, 2010

So… this post has been a LONG time coming. The below shoot was in the pipelines for months and months. And once it was done, and the photos were edited, I still couldnt post about it, as it was a SECRET ;)

But now the secret has been revealed and Jo has kindly allowed me to show some of the photos here on my blog :)

So the reason behind the below photos, Jo wanted to give something special to her husband as a gift, and thought some super sexylicious photos would be perfect. But it all had to be done secretly, as it was going to be a surprise!! One the photos were edited, I worked on an album layout, and we got it ordered. It arrived looking amazing!!! But after months of planning and work, Jo couldnt just plonk the album in his hands. So she planned another secret… a special weekend away. Her poor husband didnt know anything as he got dragged to the car (his suitcase secretly packed in the car).

Nico and I got baby sitting duty for that special weekend…. see, I always go the extra mile for clients haha…. of course it helps when the client is my cousin!

So all in all the photos and the album were a big success, the lovely couple got an awesome weekend away, and Nico and I got to spend some time with three crazy but fun kids  :D

Right, on to the photos. Just be aware before you scroll down that these are Boudoir photos, so not fully clothed. Just a selection from the many photos :D

    Enjoy :D

They may have changed their minds after meeting the craziness that is me and Nico lol, but we did a quick whirlwind shoot and everyone had a good laugh, so maybe not ;) We had to be quick to get some light but I think we got some beautiful shots of the gals, and the awesome friendship they share (Im jealous!!) in the time we had :D Here are some of my favs:

Ps. I’m sorry for the faces I made you pull, and for Nicos dancing. I hope we didnt traumatise you toooo much ;)

Her eyes look out from under her fringe, and the super excited twinkle in them sparkles! It was an absolute pleasure meeting Kelly to do some photos of her pregnant belly :) Her baby is due oh so soon, and I cannot WAIT to do some photos!! Kelly has a funky style, which I absolutely love, so the baby photos are going to be rockin!! If only they made baby sized electric guitars!!

Anyhoo, here are a few photos from her recent maternity shoot :D

For a long time Ive been interested in studio photography. In fact, when the first thoughts of becomming a photographer trickled into my brain, it was dreams of owning a studio that really got me excited. I absolutely LOVE lifestyle photography, which is going out and about, capturing your life, who you are, who your family are… having fun and just really finding out the essence of you or your family or your children, whichever, in photographs. So I love it alot. But Im still very interested in doing some studio work. Now, as you know, I like to keep my prices low, so that everyone can afford awesome photography, so my dreams of opening a studio probably will never happen… BUT I so am not letting that stop me.

So… Nico and I have turned our lounge into… a studio … well… as much as we could lol. And it has been an absolute blast! I offered free mini studio sessions for a couple of weeks from my facebook page, and got an awesome response. I had families, babies, children and more through my lounge in the last few weeks. And I have loved the challenge of doing something new!

I was only going to do studio type photos for a couple of weeks. But because of the huge response… Ive decided to keep them. So Ive been out shopping for more things for it… poor Nico hehe.

Anway if you want to see some samples of my studio shots you can view the all new galleries on my website :D

    Portraits: Paterson Street Playcentre

    Sunday, June 27th, 2010

I’m all done working on the Paterson Street Playcentre photos. I offered them a super sexy deal for family potraits, instead of just one photo of each child, so we headed on down to the Rose Gardens for a hardworking but fun afternoon lol. If you want some awesome photos for your playcentre or kindy, then feel free to pop me an email… the price might surprise you… (in a good way of course lol). Here are some of my favourites from the day:
